Equipment and supplies for brewing your own!
You have to get started somewhere and in 2008 I did just that. My brothers got the Coopers brewing kit my dad gave us as I wanted to try experimenting while they were happy to brew from canned concentrates. There’s nothing wrong with that, I still brew from canned wort when a quick brew is warranted. I ended up buying my own Coopers kit and still have it. It has become my secondary fermenter and is often also used for racking prior to bottling or kegging.
From those early days, my kit has expanded and I now have glass carboys for the smaller experimental brews as well as kits and bits and pieces from Yeahbrew, Benoni Brew, Brewmart and BeerPlus and the odd reptile heating pad from Petzone! I’ll add that as a separate page at some point in time as well as the story of how I “fixed it” so I could brew all year round.
An old friend of mine from our days in the army some 40-odd years ago has also joined me in brewing and between him and my two sons, we’ve managed to brew quite a few delicious “Wheat Smoothies”.
Here’s a list of equipment suppliers along with suppliers of canned concentrates, partial mash and all-grain brew-in-a-bucket ingredients:
I do not endorse any one particular supplier and they’re listed in random order.
For those less adventurous, try the 4,0L brewing kits from these two brewing suppliers.
