A hoppy second childhood in the making...
So somewhere around 2008, my Dad decided to gift my two brothers and I a beer brewing kit from Coopers as he thought we’d spend less on beer if we brewed our own! A few successful early brews in a bucket from canned concentrates, Coopers naturally, I enjoyed being in control of what I poured down my throat. A few sporadic brew sessions followed but then the world kind of went crazy in 2020.
Lock-downs, prohibition, and enforced isolation at home saw the rise of pineapple beer home brewing.

It got really serious in September 2020. My little company TraxworX IT Services (Pty) Ltd had decided to take the staff and families on a weekend getaway to a resort outside Hartebeestpoort Dam and being IT guys, beer is essential. We got brewing!
The weekend was booked for November 2020 and we hoped it would not be spoiled by a man who did presidential impersonations at family meetings. As long as he said travel was OK, we’d be happy! We’d have been happy anyway because we had 46L of beer.
