A Forgotten Corner Of England, somewhere...
This all takes place one sunny winters day in South Africa’s Gauteng province, not quite the arse-end of the world, but you can see it from here…
Winter days can get to 27 degrees C in the hot sun and armed with some exceptional liquid refreshment of the frothy amber kind, I set about demolishing the tarmac of Area 53.
When we build stuff here, its made strong: That hammer took a beating like the proverbial carrot-top kid in an orphanage.
Building a diorama or module has taught me one thing. As a friend of mine once said, “Take the time it takes”. You cannot rush this and I have learned to be patient and enjoy taking my time to do it right, to make it look exactly like I want it and not settle for simply acceptable.
So after a careful application of plaster cloth to form the embankment, stream and village area, it was time to plan where everything would fit.
Keep checking for the best visual layout of buildings.
Next add vehicles and animals.
Its a work in progress and right now I’m not sure if I’ll ever be completely happy with the way it looks. I’ve added paving around the church and clock tower, placed the pub next to the church because thats the way Paddy wanted it..
